Bubla Company & Reserva: Solo for Three Vacuum Cleaners

Solo of a woman, accompanied by Nobody in bizzare images. The woman is struggling with everyday worries and joys of a household. The basic storyline is the transformation of a woman into a mother. What extreme changes does a woman undergo when becoming a mother for the first time? How does it influence her relationships, what does it bring and take away and how can she cope? The performance makes use of a dynamic visual oscillating between the world of fantasy and ordinariness.

The following performance reviews were generated within the project Dance Season 2018/2019 - a Slovak nationwide project of analyzes of contemporary dance performances and discussions, which was supported using public funding by Slovak Arts Council.

Renata Ptačin reflects her return from maternity leave to work process again. She deals with exaggeration and irony, not far from a discotheque-ish gesture, simple, often repeated moves, a metaphorical image of children sucked on their mum as vacuum cleaners. In the first part, she presents herself more or less as an object, wearing her head like a lamp. There are two elements on the stage, a kind of anonymous Nothing follows the woman, creating an echo of her movement and gradually triggering her transformation. The costume is fantastic, striking like an armor.

Although this project is about the return of the dancer to professional work, it is also expression of the inability to quite bring herself back. The artist's privacy irreversibly enters the artpiece.
